בספטמבר 2006 שיפצו כ-20 עובדי איתוראן מקלט עירוני המשמש כמועדון אגרוף.

המועדון משמש בני נוער מקרית שמונה המתאמנים בו באופן שוטף, משתתפים בתחרויות ומגיעים להישגים ארציים נאים.

הפרויקט כלל את צביעת המקלט, התקנת מקלחות ושירותים חדשים, וכן נקנה ציוד מיוחד עבור המתאגרפים.
