בחודש אפריל 2008 צבעה חטיבת השיווק מקלט ציבורי צביעת פנים וחוץ כולל ציורים על הקירות.

הבקשה לשיפוץ הוגשה ע"י עמותת "לבנות ולהיבנות", שעסקה בשיפוץ מקלטים בעיר, זאת בעקבות הלקחים ממלחמת לבנון השנייה.

המקלט משמש במהלך השנה כמועדון שכונתי ומתקיימים בו חוגים ופעילויות שונות.
בפרוייקט השתתפו כ-20 עובדים.
