Ituran integrates advanced technologies to identify theft, to pinpoint the vehicle’s location and to quickly transmit messages and signals to the trained staff at the 24/7 Operations Control Center or to the Nationwide Enforcement Unit with more than 60 employees who served in IDF combat units, equipped with all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles and more.

The effective combination of technology and skilled personnel has given Ituran the highest theft prevention rate in the world. To date, Ituran has thwarted the theft of some 28,000 vehicles with a value in excess of $1.5 billion.

Ituran protection and detection systems are developed in full coordination with Israel’s authorized vehicle importers and are adapted to the most advanced automotive technologies – thus achieving high effectiveness with minimal interference from other vehicle systems.

The system uses two main technologies, allowing an optimal response for every vehicle and every need:

• Radio frequency (RF) technology: Ituran’s unique ground-based relay detection network that allows the identification of a stolen vehicle even when it’s hidden inside a building.
• Satellite / cellular technology (GPS / GPRS): Location-based satellite positioning mated to broadband cellular communications. This technology enables extremely high update frequency and maximum precision, as well as advanced applications and services that use high-speed data communications.

Ituran’s protection system is the basis for a wide range of complementary services that surround the driver all along the way, from safety services through convenience services to smartphone apps for iPhone and Android (available for GPS /GPRS technology systems only) and more.

Protection for luxury vehicles:

Complete protection and detection solution for vehicles where the insurance policy requires it. This active system includes a keypad, a hub connected to all necessary vehicle systems, protective sheathing for all cables, a tow/hit detector, plus location unit for backup. The system has an internal antenna and backup battery. A distress button can be added that calls a 24/7 staffed hotline.

Protection for regular vehicles (Ituran SAVE):

An easy and intelligent system that’s a big advance on typical keypad-based protection, and ideal for vehicles whose insurers do not require a detection system. The system has its own power supply, good for up to five years (without connection to the car’s electrical system).

Beyond the enhanced security compared to keypad-based systems, installation of the system does not damage the vehicle’s interior finish in any way and even removes the need to key in an ignition code whenever entering the car.
